Wide Format Printers for Photographic Art Print Work

If you printing photographic images wider than 24" plan on spending some serious money for your wide format printer. The cost might be best spent on more Pro photography gear than the printer if your only producing a lmited amount of large prints per year. If however you find yourself ready to justify the cost, then the question becomes which printer for your truly hi-res detailed print needs.

If you producing a poster with large commercial vol. you will want to consider a printer designed to handle the load. If you wanting to produce a limited edition work of art your considerations are unique.

One guide is not going to address all of the different printers and options with regard to price, performance, value, ink, print quality, width, resolution, and finished product.

I can say in brief I like three companies and will continue to explore all others to find the wide format printers I wish to acquire myself. I have not felt until now that the price justified the cost, however I am beginning to see performance improvements and pricing reductions to the point I am now looking at Epson, Roland, Canon, HP, and a few others on the high end. Detailed guides for each demand will follow. Reviews will be added of each product line. If you have great results with your wide format printer and want to sell in order to upgrade, please let me know.
