graphics and storage size. But if you want good reliable performance on basic stuff, documents, spreadsheets, etc or watching a DVD or surfing the web on wireless G at a very reasonable price, then this is a great very durable laptop.
I took mine on a 14,000 mile camping trip from Virginia to Deadhorse, Alaska and back. I charged the batteries using an inverter in the car. Every night I transferred my digital pictures to the hard drive and I wrote my blog in a word processing document. Then every few days I would upload to a blog when I could find wi-fi. The little Dell survived drops, cold, damp and even some heat back in the lower 48.
With Windows XP SP3 it connects flawlessly available networks and it talks to my other Vista and Windows 7 PCs without fail - much better than the newer OS computers do. I would however, recommend upgrading the memory to at least 1 GB. If you already have a 512 MB chip, a second will cost you about another $20.00 on E-Bay. Also, even at 5 years old (per the service tag) I still get about 90 minutes or so out of the battery.
Again, this is a great starter or spare. I like mine so well that I bought a second one for my 84 year old mother.
