WinXP Manager 5.2.6

WinXP Manager is supposed to help you manage your operating system and offers you many features in order to do so. If you are a beginner, you could use the wizard which helps you set many of its features as you desire and offers a lot of information for you to understand what you are doing. Another interesting feature is ‘1-Click Cleaner’. It will do pretty much the same thing as the wizard does, but without your intervention. The utilities section offers you a bunch of features to help you clean and optimize your operating system.

With ‘File Security’ you can protect you files or folders with a password. When testing the program I’ve tried to add a second password to a file (to protect a protected file), but when I decrypted the file I was able to do that only with the first password, the second one was reported invalid. So, even if it seemed the program has protected the file the second time too, it didn’t. A feature which I find very interesting, is ‘Shutdown and reminder’. Here you can create a scheduled shutdown or reminder task, which is working very well, you can view all the scheduled tasks or, with ‘Application Shutdown’ you can select an running application and click ‘Watch’ button, your PC will be shutdown as long as the application has stopped to work (CPU usage 0) for specified time slice. You can set the program to wait for several minutes, after the application has stopped, to stop the PC.

The interface is very easy to use and at any step you take, will be a small description of its function on the upper part of the window.
Pluses: Every feature is very well explained in its main window.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: this is a very useful tool when you need to clean or optimize your PC.
